For this position, the student will be working outside for the most part scouting and mapping invasive weeds under the direction of local Rural Municipalities. The student will enter locations into a GPS and later transfer that data to a database.
The other aspect of this job is delivering the Love Your Lake program. Training will be offered (mandatory) and the student will be working with local resort villages along Last Mountain Lake to survey shoreline properties.
Student must be returning to school in the fall.
Must have an excellent work ethic and be able to work with little supervision at times.
Must take direction well, and be a team player.
Must be willing to work flexible work hours.
Must know how to use a GPS (or willing to learn) and must have good computer skills.
Must have good communication skills (speaking, presenting, and writing)
Must be trustworthy with sensitive and confidential information.
Relevant educational background or job experience is an asset but training will be provided (attitude, willingness to learn and common sense are most important).
Student must have excellent time and project management skills to be able to get the work done in a timely and efficient manner.
