Description

The position of Material Handler includes but is not limited to, moving parts and whole goods in and between the plant and the yard, and loading trucks and containers with finished products.
Job Duties
Operate a tractor, forklift, skid steer or electric pallet jack in a safe manner to move product
Maintain the orderly movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods in the yard
Implement efficient storage methods, yielding ready accessibility of materials, permitting efficient space utilization and flexibility of arrangement, minimizing material deterioration and allowing for ease of physical inventory
Maintain accurate inventory records
Maintain property surrounding office and shop, including weed control and litter control, and keep yard and grounds in an organized manner
Coordinate maintenance of yard vehicles
Maintain a safe workplace
Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
One year experience in a similar position
Experience driving tractors, forklifts and similar equipment
Ability to work independently in a busy environment
Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Able to work well under pressure
Strong attention to detail
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Additional Requirements (can be attained after hiring)
Forklift license
Skidsteer training
Work Conditions
Regular need for manual dexterity and coordination, and to deal with multiple demands
Attention to detail required, subject to frequent interruptions
Occasional peak periods requiring an accelerated work pace
Occasionally deals with highly repetitive or monotonous tasks
Overtime as required
Hazards associated with a manufacturing environment
