Description

Position:        Bartender/Server
Reports to:        Restaurant Manager Description:
As a bartender you will be knowledgeable about the food and beverage offerings and able to answer any questions.  The position requires Serve Safe certification.

Responsibilities
    Greet customers, make suggestions, answer and present the menu
Deliver recommendations to guests
Maintain and build up stable local network with partners, colleagues and influencers
Accurate cash handling skills
Excellent understanding of mixology, wines and spirits
Superb attention to detail and driven by delivering exceptional standards
Excellent communication skills
Excellent personal presentation
Resilience and drive to get things right first time
Previous knowledge of Micros is desirable
Be knowledgeable about the menu and be able to answer all questions about beverages and the food
Take orders and send them to kitchen staff through the POS system
Ensure quality service in the dining room and serve meals
Prepare the bills for beverages and meals ordered, take payment and balance daily transactions
Use sales techniques to retain customers and attract more loyal guests
Apply health regulations relating to cleanliness
Apply safety regulations
Comply with equipment usage guidelines
Comply with maintenance guidelines for the restaurant
Ensure your work area is clean
Organize your work and work area professionally
Complete all other tasks as required by the supervisor

 - Prepare garnishes
 - Organize and set up bar
 - Order bar stock and maintain inventory and control of bar stock
 - Operate point-of-sales system

 - Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
 - Collect cash, credit/debit cards or other payment for beverages
 - Clean, sanitize and maintain bar
