The communications intern will assist the communications manager with a wide variety of outreach, event coordination and promotional activities. Working independently and with NCC staff, the communications intern will help to develop regional content for NCC's digital and print publications, promote NCC's regional activities in communities across Saskatchewan and contribute to event coordination and public relations activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Research and write content for digital and print publications.
- Edit and proofread content for digital and print publications.
- Where needed, perform interviews of staff or external sources.
- Promote NCC events and activities
- Support the coordination and delivery of public events.
- Assist the Saskatchewan communications manager with ongoing activities as needed.
Eligibility
The funding for this position requires interns to meet specific criteria; please ensure you meet the following eligibility requirements before applying:
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- Must be registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school full-time in the following academic year;
- Must NOT be registered in a co-op program;
- Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee status has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the Saskatchewan provincial legislation and regulations.
This position is based in Regina. There may be some opportunities for travel within the province.
