Description

Kova Engineering (Saskatchewan) Ltd. is a diverse and unique engineering and consulting company in the crane and lift equipment industry.  We are looking for a Drafting Technician to join our Saskatoon team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, a Drafting Technician uses computer aided design software to produce three dimensional (3D) models, drawings, and other technical documents.  Typical job duties include:
- Creating shop drawing sets for plate structures and structural steel.
- Creating erection and assembly drawing sets.
- Creating general arrangement drawing sets for foundations and other reinforced concrete structures.
- Preparing technical documents other than drawings such as specifications.
- Scanning existing structures and organic shapes using ScanStation hardware.
- Acting as a project leader on drafting projects and communicating with clients to ensure project requirements and expectations are met or exceeded.
- Interpreting field sketches and notes to model and draft projects.
- Occasionally travelling to job sites in Saskatchewan to sketch, photograph, and measure existing equipment and structures.
- Participating in company safety programs.

Requirements:
A diploma related to drafting technology.
Proficiency in use of computers with knowledge of Autodesk drafting products including Inventor and Microsoft Office software.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Commitment to customer service.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience producing shop drawings for steel fabricators or experience working with steel fabricators.
