I'm a 24 year old quadriplegic (pretty high functioning quad) guy thats looking for a live in caregiver preferably female but could be male. Iv got no feeling or movement from my pecks down, have no tricep, finger or hand function. I DO have bicep, wrist flexion, neck and shoulder function so I can still move my arms to do things like eat, use my phone/computer and wheel myself around. I would need you to do things like take me (with my wheelchair accessible van) to get groceries, drop me off on U of S campus or to an appointment once in awhile (aside from school I can book things to accommodate your schedule), give assistance in necessities such as catheterizing and suppositories, getting dressed, transferring to/from bed, cook supper once a day and few other things around the house. I would need on average 3 combined hours of assistance a day. You would have your own room and access to internet, tv, pool table, fireplace, heated garage storage (no vehicles) and any other amenities in my home. You would need to already live in or near Saskatoon because we need to meet to get a sense of one another's character/personality which is unachievable through phone or Skype so NO out of country workers but I still get many applications so I won't respond if you contact me. Experience is not really necessary (but should atleast have some experience) being I'm looking more for someone who I get along with well, has a schedule that will work with mine, would be committed fairly long term, is ideally between the ages of 25-35 and has a valid drivers license. Im really laid back and easy to get along with so we would have a roommate type relationship. I'd mainly need help when your home in the evenings and for you to be there each night (unless booked off) in case of a fire being I cannot get out of bed myself and for being home each night you won't have to pay rent.
