The responsibilities of the Foreman include but are not limited to:
*plan, supervise and coordinate the daily work ie. road maintenance, mowing, spraying, installation of signs and culverts, snow removal etc.
* maintain and repair municipal equipment
* operate the municipal equipment ie. graders, backhoe, payloader etc.
* promote and maintain workplace safety practices
* work with and perform other tasks as requested by Council and/or Administration
* supervise, evaluate and train outside employees. In addition to the Foreman, the RM has 1 full time outside employee and 3-4 seasonal employees.
* maintain daily logs, equipment service records and inventory reports
The successful candidate will be required to have or take all necessary training to be certified. Such courses include powered mobile equipment, ground disturbance, WHMIS and any other applicable training to fulfill the job requirements.
Self-motivation, the ability to lead by example, time management, organizational skills and good communications skills are definite assets.
