Description

A support position that delivers the early childhood services program to the community. Reports to the Daycare Supervisor and is accountability to the Health Services Coordinator. Responsible for implementation and supervision of the daycare program, consistent with the principles and guidelines outlined in the Sakimay Child Day Care Centre policies and procedures manual and the Yorkton Tribal Council Daycare licensing regulations.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess an Early Childhood degree or willing to obtain certification from an accredited post secondary institution and at least one (1) years' experience in a day care setting or an equivalent of post secondary education and experience.
- Must have a working understanding of First Nations' culture, community structure and protocols.
- Knowledge and skill to operate a PC computer with MS Office applications
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on effective communication with children, parents and fellow employees
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and nutrition requirements
- Must possess the unique ability to discover each child's talents and to foster each child's development in a creative manner within a comfortable learning envioronment
- Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be well organized, punctuqal, dependable, reliable and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential
- Must possess First Aide, CPR and Safe Food Handling Certification
- Must submit a CPIC with the vulnerable sector check and willing to submit employment drug screening
