As the key support position, you will provide administration, data entry and general accounting to the management and operations team. Join this fast paced, non-profit association with a small business everyone pitches in team environment!
- Provide support to the management and office team in the areas of data entry, social media/communications, administration and general accounting. This includes:
* Data entry: receive and enter information in the database, ensuring a high level of accuracy at all times.
* Social media/communications: Build a strong working knowledge of the Associations standards, software programs, terminology and requirements. Work collaboratively with the office team and assume responsibility for the overall social media/communication needs.
* General accounting (~20%): Provide accounting support in the areas of A/P, A/R, data entry, government GST remittances, collections, remittances and reports (not payroll). Opportunity exists to expand knowledge and level of responsibilities in this area.
- Serve as a friendly, member-focused and professional representative of the Association when greeting/responding to Board and member enquiries.
Education & Experience:
- Office education or related diploma / certificate is an asset.
- Experience with social media and communications is preferred, but training is provided.
- General accounting knowledge and experience, with an aptitude for or desire to expand accounting skills.
Computer:
- Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook is required. Some experience working with database systems and/or Simply Accounting is an asset.
Personality/Desired attributes:
- Positive attitude and initiative, willingness to learn and adapt as needed within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a small business or non-profit organization is an asset.
- Strong work ethics, commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. A sense of humor is welcome.
