Job Description: The Director is responsible for the development of strategic and operational plans in support of the V.P.'s specific service line by supporting the strategies, values, culture and beliefs of the health region and the strategic and operating plans of the functional or operational area. The Director will model and support the continuous improvement of quality, safety and effectiveness of healthcare delivery in SHA(Saskatoon). Specifically, this position is responsible for General Medicine, Respirology, Clinical Teaching Units, Ambulatory Care, Endoscopy, Medical Day Care, Extracorporeal Photopheresis, Sleep Disorders, SAIL, and Pulmonary Function Lab.
The Director of Adult Medicine & Complex Care is accountable to work in partnership with applicable physician leaders and director and manager colleagues to align the services within the Care Group. In addition, the Director works in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and other community agencies to develop and deliver services. The Director works within a team to integrate, coordinate, deliver and ensure high quality services. The Director works closely with the Department of Medicine, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, to ensure smooth operations and effective residency teaching program on the Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) at Royal University Hospital.
A major focus of this role is to align SHA(Saskatoon) care and service practices and policies throughout the spectrum of care environments in the region.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in health services, leadership or business administration is preferred.
Appropriate registration in a professional discipline may be required.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years'
