Job Description: Provides professional counselling to individuals, couples, families and groups who are receiving supportive services of the KidsFirst Saskatoon Program. This is a program for vulnerable families who live in Saskatoon and have preschool aged children . Provide professional consultation and collaborative support as a member of the KidsFirst interdisciplinary staff team. Offer counselling in non-traditional settings with flexible work hours.
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
One year experience in a directly related counselling area.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Communication skills
Ability to communicate with and maintain an effective working relationship with clients from diverse social, economic and cultural backgrounds
Advanced time management skills
Facilitation skills
Knowledge of the health region and community resources
Mediation skills

Field Hours
Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
May consider applicants with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology OR Clinical Psychology with one year of experience in a directly related counselling area.
