Description

Roots Kitchen and Bar is licensed Restaurant providing meals for Harbour Landing Village facility and the public. We are open to the public for breakfast, lunch and supper 7 days a week. Occasionally, Roots will staff and cater events in Harbour Landing Village. **At this time, Roots Kitchen and Bar is only open to our residents internally, and available for take out to the public.**

Our unique restaurant not only feeds the public, but also our residents that live in Harbour Landing Village. This includes:

Assisted Living residents, with specific menus and dietary restrictions.
Daycare Learning Centre where our menus follow the guidelines of the ministry.
Specific menus for Respite Care and Independent Living residents.
Preparing food for our coffee shop The Perk Coffee House.
Preparing meals for take out and dine in for the public **only take out is available to the public at this time**

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Maintaining stocking levels and proper set-up and take-down needed for service.

Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment.

Proper teamwork and communication to ensure accurate representation of meal items.

Prepare food for senior living, and childcare in accordance with dietary needs and food safety.

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously in a timely fashion with proper communication with front of house.

Comply with nutrition and food sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen.

Controlling and minimizing wastage.

Ensuring proper rotation (FIFO) of new product and existing.

Cleaning and Sanitizing of entire kitchen and equipment helping with the steward.

Working as a team to ensure proper food prep, pulls, and success for the entire kitchen team.

EXPECTATIONS:

Open availability; must be available on weekends.
