PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION:blending and loading of all products as well as product quality control in the storage tanks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read operating instructions and note orders regarding unit operation and other information that applies (blended tanks - tanks off sales).
Check out pitch manifold, west manifold, east manifold, and 300 tank farm to ensure the proper product is on the line with the pump in service at that time.
Inspect manifolds for proper valve position and check that all bleed valves on pumps and piping are properly plugged. Check airlines are blocked in when not in use on manifolds and piping.
Cooperate with pipelines bringing in crude or taking out tops. Responsible to switch the crude tanks and gauge, open tops suction at tank for commencement of SSPL tops shipments. Notify Chief Operator before and after any switch. Responsible to lock the valves in the 400 tank farm.
Responsible for the operation, day-to-day up keep and minor maintenance of all equipment in the tank farms and load out facilities.
Complete pre and post inspections of equipment and areas when maintenance work is being completed.
The Pumpman assigned to the Swing Shift position will perform maintenance duties in the Operations department.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Essential Work Experience):
Possess a valid Fourth Class Power Engineering certificate in the province of Saskatchewan.
A minimum of 2 years of related industry experience; Refinery experience is preferred.
Completed Phase 3 of the Operator Training Program.
