PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Web Designer is responsible for implementing and maintaining all web-based sites controlled by the College of Arts and Science including the Communications, Development and Alumni Relations (CDAR) unit, all departments and administrative websites as determined by the College Webmaster.
NATURE OF WORK: Reporting to the Associate Director of Information Technology College of Arts and Science, and under the direct supervision of the College Webmaster, this position serves as a resource to, and works directly with all levels of the IT department, CDAR staff, and other staff and faculty within the College. This is a complex, demanding position with a high workload. This position has a broad range of impact; and requires a proactive approach to the coordination and completion of large and small projects. These projects require collaboration from many different levels of staff and faculty. The web designer works closely with a large and diverse group of colleagues to develop professional relationships that foster good communication. The work is very visible and completed under pressure of deadlines. The Web Designer position is a demanding role in a rapidly changing industry; therefore, the incumbent in this position must stay current on the latest trends and tools and be constantly learning and improving ones skills to meet the needs of the College.
