The Whitecap Dakota First Nation, located 26 kilometers south of Saskatoon, requires the services of a Health and Social Development Manager (HSDM). POSITION SUMMARY: In accordance with the vision, mission and strategic directions of the WDFN and the SHR,the HSDM will: Identify and implement strategies to support integration of health services between WDFN and SHR; Perform all Health and Social related administrative functions, program and policy development, personnel duties and staffing; Plan, develop and monitor Health and Social Development budget; Prepare and initiate funding proposals to various funding agencies for health and social projects; Coordinate and support primary health and chronic disease management and maintain specific Primary Health and Chronic Disease Management (CDM) quality improvement initiatives and projects/programs through community development, strategic planning, leadership, coordination, evaluation, education and research; Facilitate communication between organizations to achieve best practice in all aspects of health programming; and Develop strong links with all other community programs. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: A post secondary degree in Health Sciences or Human Services discipline such as B.S.W., or Public Administration; A minimum of (5) years experience in management of Health and Social Development programming; Professional experience working effectively with First Nation individuals, groups, families and Communities; Awareness of First Nation values, culture and traditions; Demonstrated ability to develop, assess, implement and evaluate strategies to meet community Health and Social Development needs; Effective written and oral skills; excellent documentation and record keeping skills; working knowledge of PC software applications; Must possess a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle; and Must have a clear CPIC (Canadian Criminal Records Check). |
