Description

-Promote art programs to youth of Moose Jaw through their participation in art programs in the summer, regardless of financial limitations.  
-Provide art education to children in the community including a blend of art activities such as drawing, painting, clay, cartooning, papier mach, sculpture.  
-Help youth explore their own creativity by working with various art materials and through contact with museum exhibits.
Must enjoy working with children from all backgrounds including special needs & recent refugees.
-Research & plan art program activities for children in the community, under the supervision of the Education Coordinator.
-To become knowledgeable about the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery (MJM&AG), its exhibitions and programs, in order to share this information with participants and public, as necessary.
-Conduct research, as necessary, for delivery of the program or to support exhibits at the MJM&AG.
-Deliver art programs, with assistance from the Education Coordinator, volunteers, and resource people, including set up and clean up, as required.  
-Adapt in working in social media and familiar with programs such as Zoom, Microsoft classroom, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram as some classes are done online.
-Various other duties relating to these tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.
Education and Experience Needed:
Undergraduate College or university student in history, education, art, and experience or interest working with children and youth. Working with children with special needs would be an asset. Individuals must be; between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; legally entitled to work in Canada; and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person with refugee status. Non-Canadian students with temp work visa NOT eligible. Students with disabilities, Aboriginal students and students who are members of a visible minority are encouraged to apply.
