Description

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Community Programs, the Education and
Development Coordinator is responsible for the following community programs: Big Boost
Tutoring; GirlSpace In-School Programming; OurSpace In-School programming; Public Education
presentation to children, youth, and adults; and specialty summer camps/programs which include
Thrive Speech & Language Camp.
Coordinator will work collaboratively with all other Community Programs staff and contribute to
a positive workplace culture. The role is responsible for ensuring that programming requirements
are met, and will work within the guidelines, policies, and mission of the Agency and Program to
attain program goals and outcomes. The role of the Education and Development Coordinator may
vary based on the needs of the community and program growth, and may also include specific
projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate weekly Big Boost after-school tutoring program
Act as a liaison with the University of Regina, SUNTEP, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, etc. in
hiring/training/supervising students to facilitate YWCA GirlSpace and OurSpace
programming in Regina schools
Plan, organize, and facilitate YWCA specialty summer camps and summer programs
Lead volunteers and contract staff to deliver programming.
Strengthen relationships with outside agencies including partnerships with schools and
CBOs
Make referrals to other agencies as warranted
Build and develop program goals and objectives
Assist in the evaluation of program effectiveness to ensure continual program
improvement, growth, and success
