Job Description: A challenging career opportunity exists in La Ronge, Saskatchewan with the Mental Health Program for an energetic, caring professional who can exercise sound clinical judgement. This position strives to deliver quality community Mental Health Services to residents of the Saskatchewan Health Authority- North East (La Ronge and area), through initiating and facilitating prevention, intervention and therapeutic mental health programs, i.e. facilitating workshops, seminars and providing crisis intervention, counseling services and follow-up support services to clients and their families.

Education:
Current registration with Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan
(RPNAS)

Experience:
Minimum of two years experience in Mental Health Nursing or community nursing duties

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide medication review, information and administration for clients taking psychotropic medication.
Clinical assessment and development and initiation of individual and/or family counseling services. Referral for psychological assessments where appropriate.
Preparation of written monthly reports.
Organize case conferences, attend interagency meetings representing mental health services.
Timely maintenance of client and other relevant records.
Co-ordinate community mental health nursing activities with other professionals.
Provide educational programs, inservices and consultations, as required, throughout the region.
Participate in the orientation of new staff and students to the Community Mental Health Program.
As a member of the interdisciplinary mental health team, collaborate with other mental health staff in team meetings and other program issues.
