Description

Reporting to the Community Services Librarian, the Programming Assistant will create and present virtual library programming for the Regional Library's social media channels as part of the TD Summer Reading Club.

The ideal candidate is a responsible, enthusiastic, creative, and motivated student or recent graduate who enjoys working with children and youth, and has an interest in library services, early childhood education, education, and content creation.

Duties:
    Plan and compile STEAM, early literacy and diversity themed programming plans based on the guidelines laid out by the Community Services Librarian.
    Curate reading lists, program plans, and reference guides for all-ages programming related to National Indigenous History Month, and National Indigenous Peoples Day.
    Plan, record, edit, and share live and recorded virtual content.
    Record programming statistics and write program evaluation reports.
    
Qualifications: High school completion and a valid Saskatchewan driver's license with clean driver's abstract are required, while post-secondary education is an asset. Must present an acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check before being offered the position. CANDIDATES MUST:
    Be between 16 to 30 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.
    Qualify to be a Young Canada Works (YCW)  candidate and be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment.
    Not have another full-time job (over 30 hours a week) while employed for the work term.
    Have been a full-time student (as defined by his or her educational institution) in the semester preceding the work term and intend to return to full-time studies in the semester following the work term.
