Description

BAR is seeking a Structural Engineer, for the Buildings Division.

Responsibilities:

-Prepare engineering deliverables under the direction of senior staff
-Structural design of buildings, foundations, slabs-on-grade and miscellaneous structural components for Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and Residential structures
-Activities will include designs using structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, cold-formed steel and wood framing
-Preparation of reports, design calculations and drawings
-Ensure designs conform to applicable codes, standards, regulations and internal procedures
-Provide technical assistance and support to clients and contractors during design and construction
-Field activities will be required including general reviews during construction and structural condition assessments
-Maintain timelines and budgets to meet overall project requirements

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by APEGA or APEGS with P.Eng. designation
-Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering or structural analysis experience
-Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, and practices
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and prioritize
-Strong attention to detail
-Good time management and organizational skills
-Valid drivers license is required
