Description

Under the direct supervision of the portfolio Councillor, the Band Manager will work with the Chief and Council to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
-Supervising staff and all duties related to managing human resources
-Overseeing all programs and services, budgets,  personnel and activities of the First Nation
-Responsible for developing, recommending and implementing approved strategies, policies, and business plans
-Establishing effective relationships with the membership
-Collaborating effectively with outside organizations to develop and enhance governance, financial and administrative management (i.e., ISC, FNIHB, CMHC, etc.)
-Attending all Council Meetings and implementing their motions and resolutions ( as requested)
-Managing all aspects of the Band Office Administration

Qualifications:
-Strong knowledge in First Nation?s Issues
-Post-Secondary training in business, administration, management, accounting or finance with related administrative experience
-At least five years of increasingly responsible managerial/administrative experience working with a First Nation organization
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Strong computer skills
-Ability to formulate and administer programs
-Satisfactory security clearance
-Ability to speak Plains Cree would be considered an asset
-Knowledge of ACCPAC would be considered an asset
