Facility: Saskatoon City Hospital
Job Description: The Clinical Coordinator - ALS/Motor Neuron Disease (MND) under the direction of the Manager of Stroke Services, Neuroendovascular Program, ALS, and MS Clinics, is responsible for the daily operations, organization and functioning of the unit. The incumbent coordinates and evaluates human and material resources to ensure provision of quality patient care. The incumbent promotes and monitors quality nursing care by promoting nursing care standards and by participating in quality improvement and research activities. The coordinator assists with identifying educational needs of the staff, orientation and education, and evaluation of the progress of staff development. The incumbent functions as a role model and clinical resource for nursing staff and all members of the multidisciplinary team on issues affecting patients. The incumbent acts as an advocate and support for patient/family and staff/physicians. The coordinator provides direct patient care as required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
Current CPR Certification
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years recent acute care nursing experience, three (3) of which must be in the specific clinical area of neurosciences. Previous supervisory experience would be an asset.

Knowledge of leadership strategies in order to lead, encourage, advise and cooperate with colleagues to promote and maintain positive relationships, to achieve patient/resident/client team and organizational goals within available resources.
