Brief description

Reporting to the Buffalo Narrows Economic Development Corporation (BNEDC) Property Maintenance Working Supervisor, the Grounds and Maintenance Worker will support the supervisor in ensuring the highest level of upkeep and maintenance of all BNEDC buildings and other properties as well as the maintenance department shop/office and equipment.  It is essential that the worker possess an impeccable work ethic, has a track record of integrity in the workplace, can take direction from the supervisor and is a team player willing to work with others to get the job done well.  The worker should also have a strong customer service orientation, enjoys solving problems, is committed to completing tasks thoroughly, and takes pride in presenting well cared for properties.

Tasks

Grounds keeping of facilities and properties
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created;
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems;
Requisition of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties;


Qualifications and requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma from a technical institute or relevant trade certification(s) a valuable asset.
experience in maintenance and grounds keeping or in a similar role;
High level of analytical skills and ability to trouble shoot and problem solve in various settings;
Physical ability to responsibly work in a variety of conditions (at times strenuous) while maintaining safety standards;
Valid Driver's License
