Job Description: The incumbent provides the Pediatric Outpatient Department with high quality therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and educational respiratory therapy services to patients with respiratory diseases or other associated problems.  Ensures safe patient care by practicing within all legal, ethical, and professional standards set by Saskatchewan College of Respiratory Therapists.  The diagnostic component of the work includes a focus on pulmonary function testing and sleep studies in children.

The incumbent will have a blended reporting relationship, reporting administratively to the manager of Acute Care Pediatrics.  The incumbent will be clinically accountable to the Head of Respirology, Department of Pediatrics.
Required Qualifications

CPR Level C certificate
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Respiratory Therapist (S.C.R.T)
Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy training program approved by the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (C.S.R.T) and sucessful completion of the CBRC exam
TLR Client Moving certification
Registered with or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Cardio-Pulmonary Technologists (pulmonary).
Successful completion of Asthma Educator's course and certification through RespTrec or willingness to pursue education and certification within one (1) year of effective date
Experience
Experience with pediatric patients, pediatric home oxygen programs and pediatric home mechanical ventilation would be considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) Guidelines for sleep study scoring  
Demonstrated competence in performing full
