The David Aplin Group has teamed up with a local, state-of-the-art medical and surgical ophthalmological facility that specializes in refractive laser surgery (LASIK, PRK, and FLACS), cataract surgery, oculoplastics, and general ophthalmology services. We are assisting them in recruiting two highly motivated, enthusiastic Optometrists to join their incredibly dynamic team as they grow (on either a Full-Time or Part-Time basis). The Optometrist position will be clinical (no refracting/dispensing) and will provide the following

The Role:
Evaluation of pre-and post-operative cataract and refractive surgery patients
Assisting with the management of glaucoma, AMD, and diabetes patients
Checks conditions of patients eyes by observing pupils, muscle, visual acuity, extraocular movements, measuring intraocular pressure
Counsels patients regarding ophthalmologists orders, use of drops, drugs, and questions about surgery
Assisting in the management and operation of Clinics
Ensure optimal operation of the diagnostic equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs

The successful candidate for this role will be very well compensated, be fully trained as needed, well supported throughout their career, and get to work in beautiful downtown Saskatoon, overlooking the river. The clinic is fully equipped with 2 operating theatres approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan. There are 8 examination lanes and multiple pre-test rooms, equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment.
