Description

The Community Development and Recreation Director is responsible for building a stronger community through recreation, sports, parks and culture.   This full-time permanent position will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and will supervise the operation of the facilities under the Town of Esterhazy Community Development and Recreation umbrella.

The successful candidate is accountable for the development of policy for the community development area.  The candidate must develop and implement plans, strategies and mechanisms for carrying out the policies.  They must possess positive public relations (the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders), and work in partnership with the local community to support neighborhood and family networks to facilitate local participation and access to facilities and services.    This individual must have superior organizational skills as they are to manage and facilitate the development of viable programs/projects with various program priorities.

The Community Development and Recreation Director will assist in the preparation and control of the annual Community Development, Parks Recreation and Culture budget.  This individual must research, write and administer all grant applications pertaining to recreation and their premises.  
Qualified candidates will be a graduate of a recognized recreation diploma or degree program including a minimum of 5 years municipal practice or a combination of practice, education and demonstrated expertise and abilities.
