Description

Good Spirit School Division is currently hiring four (4) summer student positions for various areas of the Good Spirit School Division in Yorkton, SK.  We are looking for passionate individuals who are interested in fulfilling one of the positions listed below.

Details:
- $15/hour including vacation pay
- Start date and hours of work to be determined based on the needs of the applicant (up to 7.5 hours/day)

Description of Positions:
- Student Mechanic Apprentice at the Melville Bus Garage
- Student Apprenticeship Facilities at all 28 Schools
- Central Office Support at the Good Spirit Education Complex (2 Positions)

The responsibilities will vary depending on the department needs.

Criteria:
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check must be submitted in order to be considered (Only Applicable for applicants over the age of 18)
- In possession of a valid Social Insurance Number at time of hire and be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Between the ages of 16 and 30 and currently enrolled in an educational institution (high school or post secondary) on a full-time basis and are planning on returning to school in the Fall of 2021
- Participants will be asked to complete a survey prior to the end of the work placement.
- A valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Must be a current or former student of the Good Spirit School Division, Zagime Anishinabek, Keeseekoose First Nation, Cote First Nation, Kahkewistahaw First Nation, Ocean Man First Nation, or Key First Nation

Qualifications:
- A good academic record with strong references
- A growth mindset and willingness to learn
- Self-motivated individual capable of working in a team environment and on an independent basis.
- Ability to clearly present information, both orally and written.
- Effective organizational and multi-tasking skills.
