Description

AFCS is looking for an energetic, creative, and innovative Communications and Marketing Manager. This position will conceptualize and execute creative communications and marketing strategies and be responsible for the overseeing all the organizations messaging and promotions. The ideal candidate will bring their ideas and skills to the AFCS team that showcase the innovative work being done in our organization and at our member Friendship Centres.

DUTIES
Develop and manage internal and external communications and marketing to effectively position AFCS to members, key stakeholders, clients, and partners in existing, new, and emerging markets utilizing a variety of mediums.
Provide creative guidance and direction for the organization to meet objectives, strategic goals and develop creative briefs.
Promote AFCS programs, events, projects, and other initiatives in innovative ways.
Create social media presence for AFCS programs.
Use strategies to develop materials to advocate for Friendship Centres, urban Indigenous people.
Lead strategic and day to day direction of marketing, communications, and brand strategy.
Develop content for all communications channels.
Provide direction on channel design, marketing and promotions, analytics and research, communication, brand image and community engagement.
Serve as a liaison, main contact, and communication for AFCS public relations.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
Fluent in trends and engagement strategies on various social media platforms.
Executes marketing strategies to target specific demographics.
Proficient in writing and graphic design.
Organized and able to develop, maintain, update multiple calendars, website materials, and agendas.
Strong written, analytic, interpersonal communications, public speaking, and time management skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, honesty, and strong ethical reasoning.
