Description

When it comes to building construction, you've seen (and done) it all. You know why the builders chose the materials they did and can ballpark how much they spent to do it. The ace up your sleeve is that you can explain it all to anyone who asks!

We are looking for a permanent, full-time Claims Construction Specialist in Saskatoon or Regina.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing building construction and repair expertise and consultation on complex property claims to assist in quantifying damages and determining repair costs. You will conduct building inspections, prepare and review repair estimates and provide technical advice, training and support to property adjusters on building construction and repairs. You will also communicate and give guidance to our customers and their construction contractors. This work is different from that of property adjusters in that the Construction Specialist does not adjust claim files, adjust policy coverages or negotiate settlements with customers related to specific claim files.

Travel is required through-out the province to claims centres and loss sites to perform inspections and other job duties.

Requirements

You'll bring the knowledge and skills you've obtained from your two-year diploma in architectural technology, engineering technology, building construction technology, computer-aided design (CAD) or journeyman certification in a construction-related discipline. You will also bring the knowledge and skills obtained from your eight years of job-related experience in a building construction, inspection and/or estimating environment.
