Description

Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority is seeking applications for the position of Superintendent of Education in Hatchet Lake First Nation in the Athabasca Region of Northern Saskatchewan.
Position Profile:
The Superintendent of Education is responsible for overseeing school operations of Father Megret Elementary School and Father Megret High School, providing leadership in the primary areas of responsibility in Student Services; Literacy/Numeracy/Land-based Programming, etc., providing direct oversight of the Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority strategic initiatives and supporting administrative personnel in the school. Functional areas include assisting in overseeing school operations alongside the in-school administration including teacher supervision and evaluation, assisting in teacher and support staff recruitment and selection, overseeing post-secondary programs as well as all other education programs in the community and other duties as assigned by the Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority Director of Education.
Qualifications:
Professional A Teaching Certificate.
A Masters degree in a relevant educational field is an asset.
An acceptable and recent vulnerable sector and criminal record check.
A strong belief in and commitment to First Nations education.
Classroom teaching experience in an acceptable school environment, supplemented with administrative experiences.
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
Ability to take initiative.
