Description

Chief and Council of Zagime Anishinabek are recruiting for the Executive Director position to help guide the Nation through its long-term operations and nation-building plans. The Executive Directors role is the most senior executive position at Zagime Anishinabek and reports directly to the Chief and Council. The Executive Director will assume a key leadership role in establishing the Nations strategic direction; implementing the annual Administration Office operational plan; as well as helping to strategically advance the long-term vision of nation-building for Zagime Anishinabek.  

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
As an engaged advocate with Indigenous peoples, the Executive Director is an experienced and confident leader with proven governance, strategic, organizational, team-building, business planning, and communications skills. The ideal candidate should also have extensive experience and knowledge working within a First Nations context and environment, and have demonstrated cultural appreciation and competencies.

EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- At a minimum, a Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Studies, Commerce, Indigenous Studies, or related discipline
- Ten+ years of senior-level experience in an executive/management and leadership role
- Preference will be given to candidates with a graduate degree or equivalent related work experience and professional development.
