NLSD #113 invites applications for the position of a continuing full-time Numeracy Consultant
Northern Lights School Division #113 requires a continuing, full time Numeracy Consultant to model and support high quality planning and instruction practices in mathematics at all grade levels.
The successful candidate must have:
- a valid Saskatchewan Teaching Certificate
- dedication to reconciliation in Northern Lights School Division
- post-secondary credentials appropriate to the position
- substantial teaching experience with Indigenous students and a belief in the potential of NLSD students and staff
- current knowledge of Saskatchewan Core Curriculum
- a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
- an understanding of Professional Learning Communities and the Response to Intervention Model
- extensive classroom experience teaching math at all grade levels and a portfolio of high-quality unit and day plans with assessments and learning activities aligned to curricular outcomes
- experience implementing discursive teaching strategies and a willingness to coach classroom teachers
- refined classroom assessment practices that serve to improve, not just assess student learning
- data literacy
- experience with the SaskMATH resource and be dedicated to improving the quality of mathematics instruction throughout NLSD
A Masters Degree in Curriculum Studies and post-secondary courses in mathematics would be an asset.
This position will be based out of either the La Ronge central office or the Beauval sub-office and will involve extensive travel.
