Description

Lakefield LLP is a Saskatchewan team with a modern take on law.
We currently have an opening for a Corporate Legal Assistant. You will be responsible for handling corporate transactions including incorporations, reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.

Responsibilities include:
Preparation of documents relating to incorporations, reorganizations, and commercial transactions
Creation and submission of corporate filings at Information Services Corporations, Corporate Registry
Updating and maintaining corporate minute books and ledgers
Preparing reporting packages to clients and accountants
Due diligence searches
Handling large monetary transactions
Commissioning documents as required
Written and oral communications with clients, accountants, and financial institutions
Meeting with clients as required
Lawyer practice management functions, including calendar and task maintenance
Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, dictation, telephone calls, and photocopying, and administrative support as required
Maintenance of electronic filing system
Utilizing firm specific software
Closing files and sending off site

Other Skills:
Computer knowledge in software applications such as Microsoft Office programs and Information Services, Corporate Registry
Experience with Emergent and Acumin would be considered as asset
Strong initiative and autonomy to work with little supervision
High attention to detail and organization skills
Timely turnaround times and ability to handles several competing deadlines
Ability to work with confidential data
Oral and written communication skills with superior telephone skills and professional disposition
