ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of all communications on behalf of SHIP
Maintain effective media and stakeholder relationships
Manage all social media and ensure consistent messaging about the Homelessness Action Plan, its purpose and community progress
Manage a broad spectrum of committees, events community activities and communications/public relations events.
Develop various community documents such as the Annual Report and the Homelessness Report Card
Design and maintain three related websites, including SHIPweb.ca, Homelessness Saskatoon and Rent-Ed.ca.
Liaise with the members of the Community Advisory Board and the SHIP Board of Directors.
Develop media communications on behalf of the Executive Director and SHIP Board Chair when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
You are collaborative, creative, and passionate about working with the community. You have the following qualifications or an equivalent combination of education and related experience:
Post Secondary education in journalism, communication, public relations, or a related field of study.
Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Working knowledge of community challenges such as homelessness, poverty, housing disparity, as well as an understanding of community tools such as collective impact.
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions and ability to work with culturally diverse people.
Experience in Web development and social media.
Experience developing community messaging and media releases.
Proven experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with formal and informal partners.
