Description

The Department has teaching needs in the areas RLST 234.3 Chinese Religions (Fall), RLST 280.3 Methodologies and Approaches to Study of Religions (Fall), RLST 231.3 Confucianism Continuity and Change (Winter), RLST 235.3 Japanese Religions (Winter), and RLST 330.3 Daoism (Winter). The teaching load will consist of these five 3 cu courses over the fall and winter terms.

DUTIES:  The duties of the lecturer include teaching, marking assignments and examinations, supervising the work of teaching assistants (if applicable), and having regular office hours. STM is committed to high-quality teaching and research. Successful candidates will be expected to make significant contributions to the teaching and (where appropriate)research missions of the College, to contribute to one or more of STMs inter-disciplinary programs(Catholic Studies; Critical Perspectives on Social Justice and the Common Good; Classical, Medieval and Renaissance Studies; Jewish and Christian Origins; Ukrainian Studies) according to his/her interest or requirements of the position, and to forge productive links with the corresponding University of Saskatchewan Department of Economics. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and graduate supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in the discipline.  Demonstrated experience in the area of the course is expected.  Candidates with a Masters Degree and appropriate experience will also be considered.
