We invite applicants to apply for a position within our well known and well recognized Newcomer Intensive Family Support Program.
The Newcomer Intensive Family Support Program will deliver in-home parenting sessions which will strengthen Newcomer families independence and wellness. These prevention and early intervention services will enhance the parent-child relationship, promote healthy families, child safety, healthy adult relationships, and focus on connection to community resources. This program hopes to help aide the settlement process for families as well. The program is intended to mitigate, support, advocate and address risks that place families with complex levels of need. Such areas that become risk factors for Newcomers include isolation, family conflict, experiences of racism, addictions, trauma, isolation and mental health. These risk factors increase for Newcomers as they become immersed into their communities and often times lack the knowledge of how or where to connect for support. The program will build individualized plans in partnerships with the families.
The Intensive Newcomer Family Support Worker will work with Newcomer families and individuals. The Support Worker will be responsible for client service coordination, providing the following services:
Strengthening families and individuals through in-home and community support.
