Description:
The Riversdale Business Improvement District (RBID) works with area business owners and the community to revitalize 20th Street West and area in Saskatoon. Sponsoring, co-sponsoring and leading event initiatives that are intended to drive business to the area are just some of the multiple administrative activities the RBID engages in.
Our Street Ambassadors, however, also make up a big part of the team. They are largely responsible for the beautification and upkeep of the Riversdale Business District and carry out duties such as street sweeping, graffiti removal, watering plants and flower-pot maintenance, maintaining poster boards, picking up garbage, and shoveling snow.
Duties:
To beautify, maintain and clean public spaces within the Riversdale BID, including but not limited to sidewalks, business facades, maintaining flowers (Urban Agriculture), pruning bushes and trees, picking up litter and using maintenance equipment.
The Street Maintenance Ambassador maintains the public areas in Riversdale that services a wide number of services, including Indigenous organizations and entrepreneurs, organizations that provide programs and services to seniors and persons with disabilities, organizations that provides programs and services to low income or underemployed individuals, summer activities for children, and organizations that provide programs and services related to affordable housing or homelessness.
Local Priority:
The summer Street Maintenance Ambassador can expect to assist with the general district maintenance coordinated with the city of Saskatoon and many local businesses.
