Job Description: Under the direction of a Program Manager and working within an interdisciplinary mental health and addiction team, the Community Mental Health Nurse will provide a range of clinical services to a population of acute and persistent mental health disordered children, youth and their families.   The Community Mental Health Nurse will use clinical knowledge and interpersonal skills in all aspects of professional practice pertinent to the Psychiatric Nursing Discipline. The incumbent will provide clinical nursing skills in the development and maintenance of community mental health treatment programs, and adhere to nursing practice standards.  
Required Qualifications

Registered Psychiatric Nurse (Bachelor degree preferred).
Degree or Diploma from a recognized Psychiatric Nursing Program
Experience
Requires a minimum of two years (postgraduate) recent recognized experience in a community mental health setting working with children, youth and families presenting with acute and chronic mental health problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Organizational skills
Knowledge of normal child and adolescent development and psychopathology
Ability to organize work, organize and manage multiple projects, work under pressure and establish priorities
Ability to implement a variety of evidence based intervention strategies (individual or group) for individuals with mental health and addiction problems in a community based setting
Knowledge of community psychiatric nursing clinical standards of practice and the ability to develop and ensure compliance of those standards related to a community mental heath setting
Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, value
