Description

Sun West School Division invites applications for a Transportation Supervisor in the Sun West School Division Office, Rosetown, SK.  This is a permanent position commencing on or before July 5 2021. Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Supervisor will provide leadership and support for the service delivery areas in the division to ensure the safe and effective transportation system.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the recruitment and training of all transportation staff.
Assists with the planning and delivery of professional development to transportation staff.
Exercises adequate stock control and maintains appropriate inventory for 4 bus garages.
Ensures compliance with SGI and other governing bodies regarding insurance and licencing for the fleet and drivers.  
Provides leadership and support in the adherence to all applicable legislation (Highway Traffic Board, Saskatchewan Employment Act) for transportation staff.
Provides supervision and evaluation of transportation staff.
Assists with personnel issues pertaining to school bus drivers and journeyperson mechanics.
Provides communication with families regarding student transportation
Provides support with the transportation budget and purchase and disposal of capital assets.
Acts as a Liaison with suppliers including SGI.

Qualifications and skills
Ability to work effectively with various transportation software programs including Bus Routing, GPS tracking, Asset Planner, Absence Management, Permission Click and MSS.
Have, or be successful in obtaining, an "S" endorsement
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the school system, with local and provincial organizations and with a broad cross section of the local community.
