Description

We are seeking a Executive Director for Fishing Lake Child & Family Services Inc. Reports to the Board of Directors.  The Executive Director is accountable for developing, recommending, implementing strategies and business plans for the efficient and effective business operations of the Fishing Lake Indian Child & Family Services INC.
POSITION FUNCTIONS
    Ensures that the mission, goals, strategies, plans and programs of the Organization are clearly defined and adhered to.
    Ensures the appropriate development and communications of organizational policies, plans, budgets, and strategies to provide quality services.
    Directs the effective utilization and administration of the organizations human, financial, information, and physical resources to meet its mission, goals, strategies, and plans.
    Collaborates effectively with Fishing Lake First Nation, FSIN, (SC, MSS, Educational Organizations, Professional Associations, Corporations, and other Government Policy Bodies.

QUALIFICATIONS
    Sound knowledge of clinical theories in relation to child abuse/neglect, social, physical and the impact on childrens social, emotional, and mental development.
    Knowledge of social work practices and principals relating to family systems theory, history of child welfare, parenting, self-esteem, sexuality, spousal abuse, alcohol and drug abuse, cultural awareness and racism, intervention across cultural lines, traditional and changing roles.
    An understanding of human development and the impacts of abuse at the various stages of development.
    Knowledge of social, historical, and economic factors that impact family life. (Residential School, 60s Scoop)
    Knowledge of community development concepts.
    Knowledge of conflict resolution and mediation concepts to apply to internal and external audiences.
    Knowledge of First Nations Culture, values, traditions, in parenting styles, values and communication.
