The instructor will report to the Chair, ABE & Essential Services and will work with Community partners to facilitate on-site tutor time and reporting to the community liaison. This contract will have 5 days prep to familiarize with the online course materials available and complete college orientation and training. The contract includes two days of meeting and admin time as well to allow for attendance at staff meetings and to provide a final report on learner progress. Course content will be delivered fully online, with a blend of synchronous and asynchronous instruction for up to 10 learners in the community of Yellow Quill. The learners will be supported in community by local supports to help with technical support and immediate questions in a blended face to face and online environment. Focus of the program will be on work essential and personal management skills related to securing and maintaining employment and developing computer skills that support working in the new labour market realities. Computer skills training will include training in online tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Office Teams, as well as developing proficiency in Microsoft Office Word. It is expected that the instructor will be flexible in adjusting the method of course delivery as determined by student needs, and the safety protocols determining accessibility to campus community.
Required Qualifications:
- Related University degree or combination of post-secondary training and direct experience.
- A minimum of two years of teaching/facilitator experience with adults.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check will be required.
