Description

The Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists (SCPT) regulates and licenses physical therapists in the Province of Saskatchewan. The mandate of the SCPT is to protect the public by ensuring competent, safe and ethical practice by physical therapists in Saskatchewan.

Reporting to and receiving direction from Council, the Executive Director & Registrar (EDR) operationalizes the strategic objectives and decisions of the SCPT Council and manages the operations of SCPT in compliance with established policies and allocated resources.
The EDR provides vision, leadership, and sound managerial skills to enable SCPT to fulfill its role as a regulatory body under the Physical Therapists Act, 1998. This position includes responsibility for the overall planning, management and administration of the SCPTs programs including registration, regulations, personnel, and financial resources.

Hallmarks of success for this role include the provision of knowledge, expertise, and recommendations to Council to assist SCPT in fulfilling its mandate to protect the public through the licensing, regulation and discipline of physical therapists within the Province. To achieve this, the likely candidate will have an understanding of regulated professions and the issues and trends facing them.

The SCPT will be best served by a trusted, communicative leader whose passion and purpose champion SCPTs mission to protect the public interest, improve industry standard, support stakeholder and member consultation, promote education and licensing, and seek out cost-effective modernization of business practices.
