Description

The Obasa Group of Companies is excited to announce that we are expanding and seeking a Controller to join our leadership team in Saskatoon, SK. The successful candidate will be a forward thinking, experienced accounting professional, responsible for being "hands-on", while also assisting the Corporate Controller in overseeing all accounting and financial aspects of our operations. Working closely with the leadership and development teams, the Controller will be responsible for assisting with guiding the direction of the company as we grow our multi-faceted businesses (property holding & management, temporary accommodations and technology).

The Role

Responsible for financial reporting and analysis, including preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and year-end working papers.

Responsible for overseeing administration of cash reporting, cash flow management and treasury functions.

Design and implement forecasts, budgets, financial models and financial analysis as required.

Review existing financial and administrative business processes, practices and internal controls with the objective of improving efficiency and effectiveness. Design and implement improvements as necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

CPA designation required.
Canadian and US accounting knowledge and experience is required.
Minimum of 5-10 years of full cycle, industry-relevant financial management experience.
Experience leading and building a scalable and disciplined accounting team.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and promote high performance.
Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and QuickBooks.
Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to proactively consider and address needs and respond to requests promptly.
