This position provides leadership to services including recruitment and retention, leadership development, workforce development and contemporary workplace practices. This position also has direct responsibility for employee relations and developing strategies that promote safe, healthy, productive and positive work environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic HR planning
- Lead Total Compensation Planning and serve as lead negotiator and contract administrator for our unionized and non-unionized employee groups
- Oversee and support the division's diversity and inclusion strategic plan, including supportive Indigenous community partnerships
- Develop proactive strategies to recruit, retain and place a diverse and representative group of instructional and non-instructional staff
- Develop and maintain HRM policy and procedures, ensuring they are progressive, meet collective agreement provisions and comply with legislation
- Promote a workplace culture of safety and wellness including a commitment to safe and timely return to work initiatives
- Provide guidance, advice and direction to senior leadership
- Ensure the collection, maintenance and use of data in a manner that guides practice, ensures privacy legislation compliance and enhances efficiency and efficacy
Required qualifications:
- Commitment to ideals and principles of Catholic education
- A thorough knowledge and a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience actualizing human resource management principles and practices (preferably on an organization-wide basis)
- Experience in building positive relationships with Indigenous peoples, organizations and communities
- Familiarity and experience with First Nations and Metis world views, kinship models, and governance structures
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a Master's degree in Education
