Job Description: Reporting to the Manager Suicide Prevention and Wellness, the Social Worker (BSW Senior) preforms in the role of the Community Coordinator for Suicide Prevention and provides a vital link between the North West partners, the Ministry of Health and the Mental health Commission of Canada (MHCC) project team, assisting in facilitating the development and implementation of the Suicide Prevention Research Demonstration Project in the North West region of Saskatchewan  as well as the sustainability of the suicide prevention services demonstrated to be effective during the project. The role of the Social Worker (BSW) is dynamic, and changes as necessary to provide local leadership, link to national aspects and align with the current phase(s) in the five-year project.

The Social Worker (BSW) assists with local budget planning and expenditure monitoring throughout the project.  The incumbent has daily contact with members of the Mental Health team, with employees, managers, stakeholders and members of the public.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Experience
Credible leader with a minimum of 2 years experience in complex planning and project development.
Project management experience/training an asset.
Past experience in research an asset.
