Description

Under the direct supervision of the portfolio Councillor, the Band Manager will work with the Chief and Council to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sturgeon Lake First Nation.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

Supervising staff and all duties related to managing human resources
Overseeing all programs and services, budgets,  personnel and activities of the First Nation
Responsible for developing, recommending and implementing approved strategies, policies, and business plans
Establishing effective relationships with the membership
Collaborating effectively with outside organizations to develop and enhance governance, financial and administrative management (i.e., ISC, FNIHB, CMHC, etc.)
Attending all Council Meetings and implementing their motions and resolutions ( as requested)
Managing all aspects of the Band Office Administration

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge in First Nation?s Issues
Post-Secondary training in business, administration, management, accounting or finance with related administrative experience
At least five years of increasingly responsible managerial/administrative experience working with a First Nation organization
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong computer skills
Ability to formulate and administer programs
Satisfactory security clearance
Ability to speak Plains Cree would be considered an asset
Knowledge of ACCPAC would be considered an asset
