Our dynamic organization is expanding and looking for a clinical counsellor to join our professional team for the Regina and Moose Jaw area. The primary role of the counsellor is to provide clinical counselling; however, applicants must have a desire to use experience and expertise to facilitate awareness and systemic change in our community and beyond. Opportunity for flexible environment of remote and in-person sessions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Working collaboratively and cooperatively within a passionate and professional atmosphere, the clinical counsellor will be responsible for providing:
Short and long-term counselling to clients who have experienced sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse
Therapy groups
Occasional support and accompaniment for police reporting, court
Knowledge-sharing with public and professional disciplines through presentations, workshops, research
Participation in projects with community partners that enhance support and justice for those who have experienced sexual and interpersonal violence.
Qualifications
Minimum Master's degree in Social Work or Counselling Psychology
Preference given to those with experience with children and youth.
Required
Ability to contribute to and support a positive team environment
Able to provide client-centered, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care
Knowledge about gender-based violence and impacts on the individual, community and systems
Ability to work positively and collaboratively with a broad range of disciplines
Acceptable criminal record/vulnerable sector check
Registered with a professional licensing body and insurable
Hours and Benefits
37.5 hours/week
Self-directed, flexible schedule Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
