Description

The City of Weyburn is offering an opportunity to work at Weyburn Leisure Centre as a Fun in the Sun Inclusive Camp & Summer Art Program Leader. As we continue to grow and prosper as a community, we seek a motivated and innovative employee to join our team!  We are looking for 3 Full Time and 2 Part Time Inclusive Program Leaders to join our team.

Responsibilities:
-Will provide one-on-one supervision, support and care for children with intellectual disabilities;
-Will work in conjunction with other Program Leaders to plan, co-ordinate and facilitate quality of sport, culture and recreation activities for the Fun in the Sun Inclusive Day Camp & Summer Art Camp;
-Ensures that all activities are designed and facilitated to meet the needs and abilities of the participants;
-Adhere to and interpret staff policies, practices and procedures of the Fun in the Sun Inclusive Camp & Summer Art Camp;
-Ensure safety and confidentiality of participants;
-Maintain required documentation, records and reports as required;
-Provide weekly reports, attend meetings and scheduled planned events within the workday;
-Primary role is to help all children ages 6-12 years develop intellectually, socially, physically and emotionally by creating opportunities for planned and spontaneous play; and
-Act as a positive role model at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Students hired must be at least 15 years of age or older, enrolled as a student at a secondary or post-secondary school or institution;
-Experience with people who have intellectual disabilities preferred;
-Recreational background;
-Belief in Inclusion and respect for children with diverse needs
