CAD/CAM Designer

This opportunity will appeal to those enjoy a diversity of tasks in a fast paced manufacturing environment.  This is an entry level production support position that could lead into additional career opportunities.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the CAD Department Manager and will be responsible for setting up tool paths and generating programs for CNC router equipment.

Primary Job Duties:

    Utilize CAD/CAM software to prepare drawings, nests and programming for CNC router
    Utilize CAD/CAM software to continuously improve run time and programming time
    Provide information for time/cost analysis
    Track inventory levels of stock and common parts
    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Abilities:

    Knowledge and experience in Autodesk AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD program would be an asset
    Knowledge of sheet metal fabricating equipment and processes including profile cutting, forming, welding and assembly would be an asset
    Basic understanding of CNC automated cutting equipment would be an asset
    Basic understanding of Autodesk Inventor or similar would be an asset
    Hardworking, detail oriented with an innovative mindset and the ability to work under tight schedules
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    Ability to maintain a high degree of attention to detail while still achieving production goals
    1 to 2 years of workplace experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
