Description

The Ministry of Highways is seeking a highly motivated, innovative individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the Provincial Operational Services team in either Regina or Saskatoon. As Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a small team responsible for the design of public competition and contract documents, contract management, and business development activities associated with a $60 million goods and services purchasing program that supports Branches accross the Ministry.  All goods and services are purchased through Best Value Procurement processes.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

Manage projects for the purchase of materials such as asphalt, emulsions, road salt, de-icing materials, pavement marking pain; the purchase and leasing of heavy equipment and parts for the intnernal manufacturing program; bridge and culvert materials; erosion control products and seed; snow plow blades; and sign faces and posts.
Manage innovative business development projects for purchases ranging from $1 million to $30 million to fill industry gaps, increase competition, develop indigenous business capacity, and pilot new products and services.
Develop a new vendor performance program.
Representing the Ministry in dealings with private business, public agencies, and external stakeholders to facilitate comprehensive consultation across a wide range of industries.
To qualify for this position, you will possess a degree in engineering from an accredited university and be eligible for registration as a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS), or possess equivalent combination of education, training and extensive experience.
